So Cal
Nope.

Quik never reached Kanyes level. And a while back Quik refered to himself as the first Kanye which brought Quik down the same way when Dj Kay Slay refered to himself as "the black fat joe"

Kanye gave Common his comeback with Be. Gave hits to Alicia Keys, Katy Perry, Jayz and Scarface. shytted on George Bush to the point Bush caught feelings. Also Kanye never openly said he wanted his dikk sucked by a man.
*kam voice* How he tight? He don't even write his own rhymes.

His production ain't seeing Quik's.
dude isn't even in the same playing field . . he makes abstract art-rap so it will never be judged in a contemporary standard

And keep a studio full of ghost-producers. :ohlawd:

Thats top secret information
1. different times. quik came in the game at a different time then kanye. competition was stiff and hip hop was completely different. no excuses just the truth
2. quik got caught up in label bullshyt with is label. not his fault. but he still made the best of that

quik has worked with 2pac, tony toni tone, snoop, dr. dre, bought el debarge back in the game WAY BEFORE kanye was even in the game, whitney houston, janet jackson, jay z, and produced truth hurts classic with the 1 and only rakim. quik shytted on suge at 1 point, shytted on kanye for that wack ass pablo album and the line where quik tells another nikka (mc eiht) to suck his dikk is how nikkas back in the day dissed each other. again, different times. doesn't mean it wasn't gay/suspect lmao but different times. besides, didn't amber rose imply that ye was just mad cause she wasn't around to stick her fingers up in his ass :scust:

fukk outta here with this bullshyt. quik raps laps around kanye too. kanye ain't never been much of a good rapper. always been sloppy and half ass with the rhymes but it's his "i don't give a fukk" and whatever beat (whether it be his or him and a co producers' beat) he's rhymin' over that helped where he falls short as a rapper that made up for his lack of good rappin'

quik >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> ye

not even close. end of discussion

shytting on Bush > shytting on Suge

Hearsay about ass play with no proof > actually saying u want your dikk sucked by a man

Giving Scarface Alicia keys and Katy Perry actual hits > giving Janet Whitney Houston and Game tracks that didn't really hit big.

Saying Kanye rhymes sloppy when Quik was always seen as wack on the mic in the 90's.

kanye shyttin' on bush but then turns around and puts a naked lookalike of bush in 1 of his videos with him and his wife among other naked people :scust:

quik said it in a rhyme and sayin' shyt like that back in the day was viewed as callin' that nikka a "bytch" or a female. no like it happened, bruh. stop with this trollin'

whitney houston and janet jackson. even face, alicia and katy perry would bow down to their greatness. so stop

no 1 wanted to sign ye or hear ye out at 1st. they thought he was a wack rapper. great producer but wack rapper. his production has always carried him along with his attitude when it comes to the music

ye ain't seein' quik on the mic

I don't believe u. Even in the March 1996 issue of the source ( the one with Pac on the cover) reality check it stated that both eiht and Quik should just squash they beef because they both wack on the mic and no one cares about their music.

:russ:

My dude, u can defend the production but capping for Quiks rhymes is reaching when no one was checking for Quiks rhymes like that in the 90's.

Also, just blaze himself said he and Kanye had the 2 best songs on The Black album, just never mentioned Quik.

Kanye was always ok on the mic but lyrically he is way more wittier then Quik who was very mediocre on the mic.

Kanye being ok on the mic yet he has way more quotables then Quik. Kanyes first album alone has more memorable verses then anything Quik has said lyrically.

Lol.

All I have is my balls and my word.

Quik was so irrelevant lyrically that he dissed The Bronx on that song Way 2 Fonky and no one from the Bronx cared enough to respond.

:heh:

And until you post a scan (not difficult) you're word is irreverent. The Soruce praised Safe + Sound and even said he was on point lyrically :sas2:

I'm guessing you mean producer first and rapper second, right?

If so, Quik is probably the best choice.

I think MF DOOM is considered rapper first and producer second, otherwise he'd be my choice.

I'm picking Quik based off body of work, but if we're talking raw talent, then RZA is by far the best. It's just his solo discog is rather underwhelming.
