Super classic album

I know a lot of heads prefer Rhythm-al-ism but to me this is his best

Same here. Album is fire and his production run from 94-99 was incredible and is underappreciated. Lot of his beats from that era still sound fresh today as they did then.

i got hipped to this album around 2009 or 2010 IIRC. The title track is one of the best storytelling songs in rap history. Quik and G One made that Brothers Johnson even funkier than it already was.

One of my top 3 favorite Quik albums along with Balance and Options and Rhythm-al-ism

bought the reissue on vinyl and played it for the first time the other day. sounded incredible. I feel like Rhythm-Al-Ism gets more love but this might be the better album.

Any Quik fan should peep his Unsung episode too, he breaks down his evolution from one album to the next and Safe + Sound was definitely a turning point for him
