Have you heard Timbaland rap? And even if you want to go down that path, Quik's albums weren't selling either. How am I wrong?

Put it this way, Timbaland put his whole crew on. Why wasn't Quik able to do the same and yet people want to put him on a pedestal with Dre?

From 1996-1998: Ginuwine, Missy, Timbaland & Magoo, and Playa all dropped albums that at least went platinum.

Prove me wrong.
outside magoo those acts were talented.

you keep euro stepping the fact that the talent and charisma has to be there.

quik never had access to these talented acts.

you clearly not a producer so you dont/wont get it.

Forget the music, the biz ventures, putting this one and that one on, the legacy, etc for a moment

There's something extremely jarring and disturbing about a grown man saying "I deserve..." in a public forum or even having that mentality to begin with.

Dr Dre raps like a westcoast version of rakim and dj quick raps like he the 4th member of Alvin and the chipmunks.
I sound like I’m clowning but it’s an accurate description quick doesn’t have the songs Breh he just doesn’t.
Him comparing himself to dr.
Dre is laughable. He’d be better off comparing himself to sugar free. Or 2nd II none

This is MAD disrespectful to Quik and downright WRONG

In no world, universe, or galaxy does Dre rap like Rakim. Dre WISHES he had the lyrical acumen of Rakim. Bar for bar, and as far as actually WRITING your own shyt goes, Quik >>>>>Dre.

Everyone AND EVERYONE agreed that Cold 187um started the G-FUNK sound. Keep in mind that Vocally Pimpin' came out that same year. Let's not do this.

Vocally Pimpin sounds nothing like The Chronic or Alwayz Into Somethin. They just used a lot of Funk samples, not in the same league as Dre.

The fact that you said outside of Magoo speaks volumes. You're saying Magoo wasn't talented, yet he still went platinum. You tried to say that it was Timbaland's rapping that was checked for over Magoo. Breh, Tim released a solo album a year later that was nowhere near successful and it had an all star line up of guests.

This whole "DJ Quik never had access to talented acts" is DUMB. How are you a producer of the caliber of Quik and you not have access to talented acts? Do you know how much that low balls Quik? You can't be considered elite and not "have access to talented acts" especially given he's worked in the same circle as Dre having produced for Pac, Snoop, Dogg Pound, even Dre, and doing drums on projects from Eminem and 50. He's done work with Toni Tony Tone. He wasn't some bedroom producer who was anonymous.

Put it this way, Timbaland producing Missy, Magoo, Ginuwine, and Playa wasn't some label pairing. Missy and Magoo were his classmates. Ginuwine was an artist he linked with in Devante's Bassment crew, which he was a part of.

Quik just isn't in the level of Dre and even if people feel Quik is better, that excuse that he never had access to talented acts is played out and dumb.

Quik is a better musician and producer but what really stop him from achieving the same success as Dre is the the fact that his sound is too regional and it doesn’t appeal to everyone. Dudes from NYC and Chicago don’t really want to hear a bunch of G Funk Jazz/R&B fused music. He also never had the same roster of superstars like Dre does (Kendrick, The Game, Eminem, NWA and Death Row) which further halted his mainstream success.

yea you just being a stubborn idiot. magoo had no appeal and had no talent otherwise he would still have appeal like the people dre worked with do outside working with dre. people who use to work with dre still were able to hold their head above water without dre. same with timbaland acts. missy was talented and wrote and arranged songs before and after working with timb. aaliyah had a hit without timb. static major was a phenomenal writer. what did magoo do outside timbaland? nothing. wheres magoo? *rick ross voice*

quik didnt have the luck and machine dre did.

Balance & Options is the last Quik album I genuinely enjoy and still listen to. You're acting like he's dropped ten classics since Dre released 2001 or some shyt.

Also chill with the 2nd II None disrespect lol.

I always said King Kunta sounds like a Quik beat, All Eyez on Me, possibly.....Home Alone is Quik all day.......... the others tho? Nahhh
King Kunta is essentially Mausberg - Get Nekkid, which Quik produced in 99/2000
