Quik may be the most underrated, underappreciated and unacknowledged super producer ever. I don't say that lightly either because his name should be up there with the greats due to the sheer amount of work he has put in without ever sounding formulaic or being supported by session players and or ghost producers. He's a one man band in that respect but his beats are often too avant garde for the basic listeners ear as he's a jazz musician at heart and that genre needs chops to hear the intent behind the composition.

He was definitely instrumental in the DR sound we know well as the albums were saturated with his production elements and mix that you can tell was added later and none of it would have hit as hard as it did without him.

As Dre is to the knock so is Quik to the funk. Both are super skilled with the mix and heads recognize and realize he's a legend. I'd buy an album of Quikstrumentals from his jam sessions where he just lets rip with the compositions. Really don't get why he hasn't done this as he's got a dedicated fanbase that would support the projects and he obviously has the talent.

Just any unreleased Danny Boy. He didn't drop an album on DR but did after laced with Quik production but has way more stuff in the vault which is only LQ streams.

There is a load more than that. They used to be floating around in the past as tape rips but the quality was not good so I didn't really listen as I thought I'd get the CDQs at some point but haven't yet. Your post reminded me about this as its been a minute:

Loads of jams like this and not many of them are known as they were never really shared online like that. Seems some are floating around now in better quality:

I used to fw that forum heavy then it became a bunch of elitist dorks reporting and banning people for leaking tracks for free. They leaked some tracks off scary Scary Hours 3, the next day the links were dead and the poster was banned πŸ˜’
