Crazy to think that this album dropped almost 20 years ago. It was the beginning of the end of hip-hop that I grew up on and then I transitioned into trip-hop and this album is what helped me make that jump

For me, I consider it to be the greatest album of all time, any genre.

Same here...basically because it opened my mind up like a motha. Before that album it's not like I was closed minded but this album got me to check out so much more after I met heads that were into it in college. Miss college tho, real talk.

"From listening to records i just knew what to do
I mainly tought myself
And, you know, i did pretty well
Except there were a few mistakes
But um, that i made, uh
That i've just recently cleared up

And i'd like to just continue to be able to express myself
As best as i can with this instrument
And i feel like i have a lot of work to do
Still, i'm a student - of the drums
And i'm also a teacher of the drums too"

i literally heard this album for the first time last week almost by complete accident. i was browsing some websites best albums of the 90s list and this cd was ranked near the top. i had spotify open so searched for it right quick and just let it play from the beginning. shyt was amazing brehs. very chill, very relaxing, i was doing some writing and i feel like this shyt helped with my creative process. ive only played the album once through but this thread inspired me to play it again today.
