Well I was new and I knew that if I said what was on my mind, that would had been my last day working there.

You ain't gotta wild out, but letting stupid ass c*cs get away with saying shyt like that is what makes them think its ok. The key with handling situations like that in the workplace is letting them know what they said isn't ok and that they offended you and then refusing to associate with them in non-work instances. There's this white dude at my job who thinks he's slick that'll say hi to me and I just walk by him like I didn't see him. Dude thought it we was cool enough to refer to me as "[his] nikka"
