I find it very hard to believe that no person on the development team of any of those games was consulted on this. Nvidia just did this on their own without anyones knowledge?

According to the developers and artists with the exception of that one bethesda guy, yes. What could have occurred is the corporate suits signed off on this, not the actual developers and artists themselves, or not.

People are divided on this, though the response seems to be overwhelmingly negative. This needs to be applied properly as a complimentary tool directed by the developers and artists, and not a way to cut costs and replace developers' and artists' work with this.

Based on recent articles, seems as though developers and artists never cosigned this, did not participate in creating the presentations, and are against this.

Of course they are, this is their replacement.

It is fukked up they didn't consult with the artists, but shyt looks a lot better than what they were doing. We can have both artists and Nvidia making their shyt look better.

I'm actually surprised by the backlash of DLSS 5. It looks so much better. It's a tech demo though, so we'll see what the actual release is like.

These artists are just mad Nvidia made their shyt look so much better. Do better artists. AI affects us all, why would they think it wouldn't affect them? fukk all that shyt

I was so surprised too the more I do research and why they dislike it so I understand now why they think this is a bad idea.

It also lightens the background deeming artistic choices, moot.

But it was running on two 5090s. Most PC guys are running of xx60 class cards. It shouldn't affect the majority of gamers.

Digital Foundry jumped the gun. They got flewed out and started fellating. It's the Xbox Series reveal all over again.

They saw the tech in action but didn't get to test it thoroughly in depth.

That's what I meant by they jumped the gun.

But they're entitled to report things how they want.

DF are "independent", but are now beholden to their Patreon subscribers. Upset their fans and there's no more DF.
Their video has something like 59k dislikes. Despite it being a million viewed video.

But I agree, Internet gaming discourse is deeply flawed. That's why I don't diss games I haven't played. If YOU play & enjoy something that I think is a bad game, I'm not gonna go on Twitter and try to convince you of my opinion.
