I know that y’all are up on Mambo sauce and there are different kinds of it..It’s y’all staple condiment..

I am from Southern California, an E/S one @ that, so I don’t know much about the food culture out y’alls way..

One day, I was on YouTube watching some videos about Mambo sauce and some brehs and brehettes were lacin the video with the history and significance of the sauce. It really made me curious, so I went online to see how a I can buy a bottle of it..

Found one brand and ordered it.

It came to me SEALED(thank goodness!) and I put some of it on some chicken! Not bad! Yes, I know I didn’t get the real deal Holyfield like y’all get, but at think it may be close to what y’all may get out y’all way..

Now, I ordered the sweet hot version and I think it would go great on some Wendy’s spicy chicken nuggets or spicy chicken sammich from CFA!

Perhaps, y’all could put me up on game about your opinions of the condiment and how it should be properly used?

Oh, to my Chicago brehs/brehettes, perhaps y’all can shed light on mild sauce? I saw some YouTube videos about y’all staple condiment as well. I am curious in knowing more about it..

Much respect!

IMO U already got it figured out breh. If you have a Chinese carryout get wings and fries and douse them in the sauce

Breh, our here, we have those jsnky ass strip mall fast food Chinese joints or your regular Chinese restaurants...

But, lemme ask you this...

Do you think Mambo sauce would taste good on Wingstop dryrub flavored wings?

My personal opinion is Mambo Sauce is overrated. I'm not a big fan of sugary anything these days so I'm biased. But if you insist the brand most people insist is Capital City Mambo Sauce. For the most part the darker the sauce the better. There's some carryouts that sell a lighter pinkish/red mambo sauce and we call that huff sauce

Thanks!

Yeah, I copped the Capital City sauce. I think that is the only one that sells nationwide and they are Black owned, right?

I also agree that it was on the sugary side of the game, but like I said, I never had it before...

Today was the first time ever tasting it. I liked it, but I got the mild version. I want the spicy verson to compare...

Out west, we only have BBQ sauce or hot sauce or whatever shyt you buy at the grocery store. There is no cultural staple condiment sauce out here aside from whatever sauces people use for certain ethnic dishes..

I will share this real quick..

It seems like DMV and Chicago uses their condiments the same.. Either use sauces as a dipping sauce or smother the meat with the sauces. I think I would prefer to use it as a dipping sauce. I don't think I would like my wings or chicken pieces smothered..

Just my opinion..

This thread got me rollin :mjlol: what made you start watching videos on Mambo Sauce? That seems hella random

Make some crinkle fries and pour mambo sauce all over them and eat them with a fork

Good question..

shyt, perhaps a nikka was bored, but I think it was because I was watching this one show where a Breh chef was going around the country meeting other chefs, then the both of them go to another chefs spot to eat and talk about their ventures. Can’t think of breh’s name..

Anyways, Breh was in DC and I think they mentioned Mambo sauce or it could have been related videos where someone mentioned the shyt. Same goes with Chicago’s mild sauce. The way people spoke on the shyt had me curious! I like food and I like learning about regional cuisines. I got a work homie who is from Memphis and I asked him about the food over there because I heard the food there is fire! He said it was, so hopefully, I will go there and get my grub on! Lol

Maybe that will answer your question..

I’m seeing a lot of spots selling that pinkish sauce, not good at all. All carryouts don’t sell good mumbo sauce.

What spots would you recommend?

Well, will I get an audience? I mean, if I can't get one here, then I wouldn't fair well blogging or being on YouTube..

I appreciate the suggestion! Salute!

Good lookin out! those crab fries sound good af! I figured there are different variations of sauces, but I live on the other side of the land, so I won’t get a chance to try them variations out unless I visit DC.

I think it is a great condiment for wings, fries or fried seafood, if that is your thing..

I am always open to trying out different things that isn’t pork based..
