:dwillhuh:Why it sounds like DMX is preaching underwater with the "Prayer"?

Overall, its a alright album. Nothing to be wild hyped about, but it'll get some spins every so often. The problem with this album is that the mastering is a gigantic mess:hhh:. Like some of the tracks sounded like it was edited on the fly on Audacity. Then you have the direction of the album being all over the place. Look at the album "And Then There Was X". That album was X's most commercial album but it was cohesive as hell. For every "pop" track, there was a grimey track. It was a perfect blend I seriously feel like there is more in the vault that could had been used to make this album feel complete. It seems like this was rushed as all hell because of X's passing despite the album being complete.

Overall, a 3/5 from me.

I'm an audio head, not a pro, but got a good ear for sounds, just on the second song, but the Hov verse sounds like they copy and pasted it on top of the song after it was done.....like you said...sounds rushed cause of what happened.....damn just got to X's verse....it's like they didn't do any mixing down on it....like they mixtaped it...

That intro "THat's My Dog" tho.....at least Jada's verse...:banderas:

Walking In The Rain, Take Control, and Hood Blues are the only songs worth more than one listen (not counting the prayer and skits). Everything else is REALLY bad. All these cool features ruined by straight up awful beats. Swizz should be sent to Istanbul for being the executive producer on here. This would go in the recycle bin if it weren’t for Mr. Porter and Avenue Beatz. I know X’s voice isn’t what it once was, but why does Jay sound like he’s rapping in a dungeon on Bath Salts? And the beat is so damn wack anyway.

This album is ALOT of cut and paste action and it makes you wonder how much useable X material is left around.

Swizz clearly called in a bunch of favors for these features because there didn’t seem to be a complete song worth of stuff for any of these tracks.

And the Swizzy “bounce” formula on 3 of these joints felt too damn predictable. It’s like he forced the issue by doing the production instead of opening it up and sharing the wealth. The album rollout felt rushed and should I’ve had a better build up for a July release with some innovative promo.

Good to hear some new X shyt but there were too many eras of X on here and you hear it in his voice. It’s like putting Ready to Die Biggie vocals on a project with the smooth Life After Death BIG stuff when there was a very clear disparity between the two.

I dunno.....Swizz could’ve let this one boil in the pot a bit longer and just oversee the shyt and find the best production and features combos

The Griselda joint was ehhh, the sample is tired and 50/G Unit already merked it into oblivion. You have a Jay/Nas record and not lead with that? WTF. That Griselda shyt is a hard pill to swallow for some along the likes of MOP, where you legit already have to be a fan of their stuff.

The mixing on this is kinda all over the place like you took some ransom mp3s and made a playlist.

They should have never made that Griselda song the first single, really killed the buzz for this.

But this album is dope. Nas bodied his two verses. Wish they mixed Xs voice better on some of the tracks, but this is good.

True dat. They should have put out that U@/Bono joint as the 1st single. Swizz keeps fukking up
