With the albums and hits DMX has plus the respect and fan base he has even amongst white people (festivals) and overseas X should be far from broke. It's because he has so many kids and he's sort of unreliable (as far as showing up) that he would be. It's the gift and the curse. If X were more "stable" he'd be one of the wealthiest rappers ever. Dude went multi plat on two separate albums in the same year. He's one of few legacy artists who's hits can ring off in any demographic venue. It could be the hood of hood party or fukking Jewish bar mitzvah and both audiences would rock to it word for word. It's crazy because he never had a top 20 single. I think Up in Here was his highest at like 27. I was at a mixed bar a few months ago. The Dj played panda and the crowd was kind of fukking with it, trying their best to sing along and whatnot. But when he played UP In Here and the whole crowd was going crazy like damn, shyt really surprised me panda is one of the biggest songs right now but yall going 10x harder for Up In Here.
