anybody else find it funny that ruff riders as a whole didn't want that shiny, glassy style, but DMX was first brought to the mainstream on a Ma$e record and Lox were on Bad Boy. Call me crazy but X would have had a classic over there if he would have signed, it may not have been dark and minimalist but puff would make it sound like cinematic movie of a bad guy

nah dmx first album is perfect and is classic as all hell

also a damn classic last verse (IMO) of DMX that doesnt get alot of mention from that era is this joint right here

Nas' last verse on "one love" is one of my top last verses. (Not sure it's part of the discussion, since its a solo track)

But they put DMX last on so many features for a reason. Same with Canibus in 98. Rappers just didn't want to follow them.
