You gotta adjust yourself to it, but once you do its not that hard or uncomfortable to watch. Put your judgements and personal feelings aside and just pay attention. Idk.. ive hung around enough crack heads and once you get past the mannerisms and all that.. Its not that bad. I feel like ive learned more and had more meaningful and impactful conversations with drug addicts and the mentally ill than ive had with "normal" people.
