What does that say about the Republican party? They've been flirting with fascism since the Nixon days.

Trump is just the final stage of all those decades of dog whistle politics. It's morphed into a fascist party.

You can say what you want about Democrats/Liberals...they are not putting people in cages and allowing them to die by the hundreds of thousands through their inactions.

The moment you have needless mass death in a situation you control as a government, you have entered fascist territory.
Without a doubt. let's stop lying to ourselves.
No disrespect, but I think you are giving Trump too much power. The McCarthy era was fascist, no doubt. The post Cold War era Reagan and Bush "compassionate conservatism" was an effort to change that . Obama pissed off white folk and caused a resurgence of populist nationalism, but it lacked direction. Trump is their charismatic leader. I honestly don't think the movement can survive without him. That's why I'm less concerned about him, and more concerned that the movement he breathed more life into becoming self sustaining. People like Tucker Carlson being a serious contender for 2024, for example.

It's all something to be concerned about...but I really have been considering all of the moves that Trump's constituents behind the scenes have been making to give him ultimate power as President....that includes his Republican cronies in Congress, the Senate, and the Supreme Court.

It's like people haven't been paying attention...y'all can keep thinking we're still in a legitimate era of politics and not encroaching fascism all you want...and Republicans are playing fair...they aren't they havent' been considering Trump's whole time in office. They've been twisting the rules to make sure they can usurp as much power as possible.

again...so many of y'all in KTL claim to get it but you really don't...(not you in particularly whoadie...I'm just saying in general).

Americans really don't want to admit this country is going fascist.

Trump is painting the LEFT as fascists...as the RIGHT is comprising of actual fascists.

Anytime a leader is telling you the people who are fighting fascism are the fascists...guess what they are fascists.

But Americans are fukking idiots with their thumbs up their butts waiting for lines of people to be hauled off into fukking gas chambers for them to know it's real.

Unfortunately a big part of this is people having an online persona that has bled into the real world. Our online lives have become the WWE and some people can't distinguish when it's time to drop the character. We see it here on this site. We also really saw this with the run up to Trump and "meme/troll" culture. Or the Meme wars of 2016. Your average person would dismiss that stuff as juvenile humor, but trolling has caught on so much that people today can't tell "fake" from "real" news. With things like Facebook and smartphones taking over our lives, people have become susceptible to mind manipulation. Add to that the idea that being smart or an intellectual is somehow a bad thing in America, and you have the recipe for disaster.

Why did we learn about the Holocaust in grade school, middle school, high school, college...etc?

In order to not repeat the mistakes of the past. Now, America is repeating those same mistakes.

Internment/Concentration Camps? Check

Illegal Raids? Check

Travel/Ethnic Bans? Check

Kids in Cages? Check

A demagogue who blames problems on "others"? Check

Deportations? Check

Needless Mass Death? Check

I mean, the rest of the world is looking at this country in horror right now. Trump is making all the moves to ensure that the coronavirus goes NOWHERE cause he sees it as a opportunity to usurp power and maintain leverage against his political enemies. The way him and his followers look at this virus...it's like they WANT it to spread...cause it kills off undesirable communities disproportionately (minorities, the poor, the elderly) and sells the idea that in order to be "great again" we must cleanse the country and let the virus wash over it so only the "pure" and "true Americans" remain. It's a play out of Adolph Hitler's playbook.

I just consider Americans are willfully ignorant and refuse to think that fascism could happen here even though it's happening right now.

Politicians squashing dissent by criminalizing protest groups and antifascists while supporting fascism and the death of democracy...

Politicians urging the military to shoot and kill protestors.

This is not a democracy anymore...do y'all understand that?

:francis:

If you want to list reasons, as you have done, why you think America is under the wrong track under Trump that's your right. However, still live in a democracy/republic. To claim otherwise is hyperbole at best.

Americans really don't want to see what's right in front of their faces.

Would you consider China fascist?

So fascism isn't fascism until it looks like Hitler's Germany?
The quote below sums it up...
Trump is a monkey throwing shyt at the window.
Trump isnt a fascist dictator, he's an inept leader who has gotten thwarted at every turn since losing the House, and will be voted out shortly.
To call him a fascist dictator is not only inaccurate but giving him far too much credit.

Digital marketing tools (Facebook, Google, etc.) originally intended for corporate brands have been weaponized for political gain.
