The DSA aren't even real socialists...
They don't advocate for the ending of capitalism or markets...if you aren't a Marxist-Leninist-Maoist you are not a socialist....you are a Leftist...yeah but you can't sit with the big boys

DSA and ISO run pretty much any candidate that checks out and pushes for the agenda of the organizations.The thing these Dem socialists don’t understand is that the black community would probably be strong base of support for socialism but they, just like the two major pol groups, always go to the one or two black people that they THINK represents black America.
Hence the reason that every Dem politician thinks they need to talk to Al Sharpton before they run for office
There are explicitly pro-Black goals on the agenda. The membership and the people of the organization change drastically depending on where you are and how old the chapter is.
I work with numerous Midwestern chapters with a solid Black population and very specific goals, we have less of these issues than I'd imagine a lot of the California chapters would, as they have a huge yuppie base.

If there aren't other people coming in and articulating the necessary needs, they will be overlooked. The National Chapter takes on specific problems, but small-scale infighting isn't going to be directly affected.
Black Socialists of America do some incredible work in the area.
The ISO's and DSA's goals full stop are an altogether ending of capitalism and markets.
Maoism is notably anti-democratic, and Lenin-Stalinism is notably totalitarian.

There is validity to some of the issues of DSA but those in it acknowledge it. In its current form and its resurgance, its still very new.
