Honestly, I think all animals are depressed, even those in the wild.

They're lives are so unfulfilling. I mean they literally just eat, poop, sleep, have sex, and hunt, for their whole lives until they die. They don't do anything. No enjoyment or happiness :dame:

Youre applying human attributes to animals breh. Animals especially wild ones dont think like us, theyre just out to survive.

Veterinarians seem to think so. I've filled prescriptions for dogs and cats many times for things like Prozac, and Zoloft. I assume there is some science and or observable behavior behind it.

I see people with dogs out there..I'm thinking you cut the dogs balls of, lock him in your home, brainwash him to live by your rules Can't go outside..can't even take a shyt when it wants to. Can't have sex, hunt, run with a pack, eat on his own accord. Can't imagine that doesn't fukk an animal up.
Nah dogs are dependent.
They need us.
They love us
We love them.

Me and my brother both had female dogs growing up.

They both had pups at the same time. My bro's dog got jealous and killed my dog's puppies in the middle of the night. I woke up in the morning and saw my pops with bloody gloves putting dead puppies in a garbage bag :merchant: Saw my dog with battle wounds on her face like she was trying to fight my bro's dog off :mjcry:

My dog ALWAYS was excited to see me with her tail wagging a million MPH and jumpin all over me..... but she stayed underneath a table with her head slumped that entire day. Wouldn't come out even when I tried to cheer her up with her favorite dog treat :to: Dogs get depressed too

There was a stray cat who used to come around here. She had a kitten. The kitten was killed by a vehicle. Afterwards the cat used to just lay on the welcome mat and you could just tell it was sad. Her baby only lived for like 3 days. It stopped coming around for awhile. Too many cats had started to get comfortable around here, so we stopped feeding them.

I'll always remember the image of her seeing her baby kitten dead. Her trying to nuzzle it and then realizing it was pointless leading to her picking the kitten up and trying to bury the kitten in our yard.

Eventually my dad and I buried the kitten for her. My dad said "I've never seen a cat trying to bury their child."

Nowadays I see her walking around the neighborhood, looking for food or just roaming. She doesn't seem as depressed as she used to be.

My dad passed away in 2014, this memory has stuck with me.
