Chick really stole a Twilight fanfic and did nothing but change names.... now she rich as hell and theres nothing the original writers can do about it.

i thought the chick started it off as a twilight fanfic and then switched it up..

but she just jacked it? did a "replace all" on the names? :pachaha::dead:

i'm about to go check out some of these stories now :scheme:

I was part of a really dense and concentrated group of fanfic writers a long time ago.

I had tons of stories written, approved and ready to be dripfed to our old message board readers when I got sidetracked by partying and trying to be a family man and never got them published.

I lost all of those stories when Katrina came through and wrecked my shyt. A lot of the other guys stuff is on fanfiction.net.

I'm trying to write comic scripts now so I can get put on, fukk a fan fic... I'm trying to get paid.
The fact that this frumpy haus frau was able to turn her badly written Twilight fan fiction into the big bucks Fifty Shades of Grey book and movie franchise just by changing names and removing the supernatural elements still freaks me out.

Back in the day, I used to frequent this site JLAUniverse.com, and they were MAD into fanfic, and I wrote something by way of being angry that the season 2 finale of Justice League was being delayed for 10 months, so I went and wrote a poorly written, zero composition skills whatsoever finale for myself

It was flimsy, childish, but I had fun doing shyt like that :myman:

you'd be surprised at how much money some of these fan fic authors can make.. they're getting movies and shyt.

fifty shades of grey started off as a fan fic.

only fan fiction I ever read was 'The North Remembers' which was part of the ASOIAF/Game of Thrones world
Yo, can that be published legitimately? I've been wondering the legality of fan fiction. The 50 shades chick seems like a fluke/anomaly (although plagiarism isn't new, Shakespeare stole :patrice:)

I'm more interested in making something than writing just to write.

lol no I don't think so at all, unless they were given permission by the author but especially the book I read he'd never allow it

I used to read Power Ranger's fanfiction back in the late 90's, like 1997-98 at the public library. Like most fanfiction the vast majority was bad or weirdo shyt. Most of the great concepts were never finished. There was one written by a black dude that is probably the GOAT PR fanfiction. It's probably wiped from the internet like most shyt from that era.
