As a black man soon to undergo a custody battle with my ex wife, I believe in the theory of Child support but it should never be applied with a broad stroke of a brush but on individual cases. I do believe that custodial parents should have to display the wherewithal to support themselves without assistance. As it stands, the only thing that my state cares about is if I pay. There needs to be a monitoring of financials. Non custodials should have an idea of how money is spent. This is ultimately our money being given to you. My dollars resonates but my decision making and ideas don't. That's a load of bullshyt. The state doesn't care that she can't support herself without my support and her mother. What needs to be broken is the broken construct that the woman is better suited to raise the child. Once we change the paradigm on this way of thinking, we men will be operate in a position of power rather than the bully pulpit women are allowed to utilize. I agree, lot of men ain't shyt about support but on the flip side, a lot of women aren't either when it comes to spending.
