Do Black Americans have it easier than Caribbean Blacks?

damn near every Caribbean breh I know who is college educated, either has a degree in engineering or some type of accounting / business background because they actually plan on owning property or various businesses. The ones who go to school, don't play.....

Go to Brooklyn,ny, and watch that thought change quick. That's why all the shyt I hear like this always have me with the face. I saw both sides. People who were about education, and people who helped fukk the community up. I learned the history of east flatbush in brooklyn, and learned that the reason it got so bad was because a lot of low income/low educated foreigners were allowed to live there in the late 70', early 80's. Places like the vanderveer(now called flatbush gardens) turned into dangerous spots in the east. Before that it was a place people who had low money can raise a family. Now, it wasn't just because they were low educated foreigners, the coke/crack game was effecting nyc in a bad way also. When you put two & two together, those low income people got into the drug game, and violence increased. I also saw west indians in the east who raised their families, and got better out of life. The same things I saw in bed-stuy which was majority AA. Queens was mostly AA(the black parts) and I used to think it was because of the beautiful ladies. But they had some fukked up parts too. Not like brooklyn though.

I just don't understand where all of this West Indians are more educated stuff comes from. Maybe the ones who just got here but if you are including those who were here for most of their life, I'm confused. Maybe that's why I don't see them as special, just regular people who do the same things most other people do. I can't speak on Africans because there aren't that many of them to even speak on them as a whole.

Now, people who I would call special are the JEWS! Them nikkas just think different. I'm not saying its good or bad, but different. The question should be asked, do jews have it harder or better, then most Americans?

this depends on a few different factors. i know a lot of fukk ups, a few engineer types, and a few in between. but i mainly know jamaicans and trinis.

Although Black Immigrants tend to have more education than their Black American counterparts (especially Nigerians), the degrees that they earn in their native countries aren't always respected, which means they may have to jump through alot of hoops in order to work in their field of study.

Yes white supremacy was sometimes even more brutal in the island, but many of these West Indian countries had to experience lawlessness ,bad riots, civil unrest and very bad drug organizations. People fail to realize that the Caribbean and South America goes has rougher hoods and ghettoes than the ones in the States.

I'm still trying to get a grasp on how so, I have family down there aside from a few minor things like cuisine and going to festivals / carnival, peeps out there aren't really doing any much different than what I would be doing in the states. Except if I lived that close to the beach, I'd go swimming at least once a day, and reflect on life watching the sunset

I have asked some West Indian folks the same thing because I have noticed some dancehall artists using gang signs, and they refute any copycat gangs exists in the islands or Caribbean. Belize an extension of the Caribbean has some of them because they are Belizeans that migrated to South Central in the 70s and 80s.

Jamaicans, and other groups are so busy trying to get here to get a piece of what we made, and you got white folks owning the resorts and everything of value in your native country and with all your pride and accomplishments y'all don't go back and build any real infrastructure in your alleged native homeland. I have asked some West Indian folks the same thing because I have noticed some dancehall artists using gang signs, and they refute any copycat gangs exists in the islands or Caribbean. Those few cultural differences never stop Caribbeans for working for the Best interest of ALL black people in the past.
