Do Black Americans have it easier than Caribbean Blacks?

Benefit is being around more black people. Disadvantage is that you are more vulnerable to racist white people.

Disadvantage is that your on an island so many conveniences that you will have on the mainland doesnt exist there or if it does its very limited.

Jobs for one where I used to be is a pain in the ass to get. You got an island full of people with only a few jobs to go around.

I'm trying to write a 5 page paper on struggles black immigrants specifically from the Carribeans face in the United States and the struggles they face that black americans don't. Interested to hear different perspectives other than my own. Will make my paper more interesting and easier to write. Thanks in advance.

I've lived in the Caribbean for most of my life and went to University in the US for 4 years. I wasn't an 'immigrant' per say but on a student visa. There I made many friends that were also from down here that were immigrants or that parents were immigrants. They all complained that in their respective countries there wasn't such blatant and rampant racism. Something I also witnessed for myself. Cultural differences were another huge discrepancy. Otherwise with regards to the law, or society, they didn't seem to feel much different from the AA's, just the Caucasians.
