And I don't know where people get this idea that African immigrants excel more than us in education.she is, im glad i listened to @lotty and posted.

They can talk all the BS but when we serve them that ether and dont want to be associated with them now all of a sudden we're doing too much and taking things too far.
If we're merely receiving scraps then why are you competing with AAs for them? Cant you make it without those scraps from the AA community?

Non-AA can make excuses for their people but I've seen it first hand with my own family.
exactly they have really deluded themselves into thinking that all of the degrees are earned by foreigners, and that all the Black professionals in this country are immigrants.
so much so that they LITERALLY are SURPRISED when they get to school or in the work force and realize they are a minority.
they REALLY think HALF of BLACK professionals are Caribbean and the other HALF are AFRICANS

I worked at an all black org, only one wasn't from America, everyone else was AA.
And I'm half African so I'm not being biased in my observations.

They are really sold on that AA inferiority, its ingrained in their culture when they move here.

It's very difficult to come and settle in the US, it's why they are so willing to be lumped with AAs to get ahead and ingrain themselves in our culture all the while differentiating themselves which is fine. Like @K.O.N.Y said, AA is it's own ethnic group.
This shyt is pointless and will only go on if you just let it go. I remember in school kids would always try to clown me especially in front of different races because was african. One kid even called me a slave and drew a picture of a someone being lynced, It was pretty dumb seeing that it was an AA who did this. But this was only a few instances and happened a lng time ago. You guys are doing what you say africans are doing by holding on to those few instances. All I have to say to those who wrong you teach about your people, if they don't hear you out well you can't save them all.

Is why I'm slowly leaning towards her argument. It wasn't no scraps being thrown, my people had to fight to get what we have here. When I hear the stories my mother tells, I can't believe they went through that shyt. It keeps coming back to this is why there is no respect shown, yall have this idea that whites just felt sorry for black americans, and gave us something. Reading the posts from the delta chick made me think about a lot of things. Like Africans getting so much money in aid yet do nothing with it. They have countries, but most of them are in deep shyt, yet they look down on us when we are constantly fighting for our growth and get no type of money. I really have a feeling things are about to change, and immigrants are not going to be seen in a positive light because of the disrespect. They wave their flag, which I can understand, but dis America at the same time. Its like they are playing us. I always felt I had to give respect because I grew up hearing about black pride, and was seeing how racists whites treated all of us but, it wasn't my experience from most. There was an African I knew that was a real good brother but a lot of them, just like west Indians/latins, try to distance themselves and give a feeling of that they are better then you. What's weird is they would only do it when they were around each other in big numbers or around their elders. Which is when I started to notice this shyt. Out of not wanting to dis blacks in front of others, and disrespecting the good people I met, I just let it slide but I don't think I can anymore. Especially with the internet letting people show their true colors. I never heard a lot of the stuff I read.
Now that President Obama is allowing these immigrants some rights, and don't give two shyts about us, I'm seeing its time to change some things, and my thinking of blacks being together is one of them. I like Tariq nasheed and others like him but, I think I'm going to have to chill with the blacks of the world unite stuff. If we got tricked before, and our asses were sent here, who is to say it won't happen again in another way? That's what history is for, to show you what not to do again, and if we see now who isn't really down for us, we need to take heed before they be used against us just like they are using latin immigrants. I think its time for us to do us. I have no hate for immigrants and the children of them but, now I see they do have an issue with me, so my black ass better wake up or all the work my people did for me to have a better life will be gone, and it was done by someone who I thought was my brother, since we all went through the same shyt from the same group. Hell no, I ain't letting that happen. I will mingle with them to observe, and learn, but always aware that they are competing with me, and don't really care about me, for the most part. The ones who prove they aren't with the bullshyt, I'll treat them like I always have, with respect, and as a brother.
what i said was the truth. a few spots in schools held for AAs, which black immigrants are supposedly taking, is SCRAPS. compared to housing loans and what whites received after the WWII which give most of them the leg up the have today a few spots in universities and some aid programs are SCRAPS. i didn't mean it as an insult towards AAs but just speaking facts but like i said some of y'all seem to be butt hurt from a few personal experiences to see the truth that you're mad over some scraps.
