I would agree if we were talking about the trans-saharan and trans-atlantic slave trade that happened in Africa. Black women (and men) were not being protected. I could see if were talking about colonialism in Africa. Black women weren't being protected. The men of that time failed to oust their enemies, and the result was black women losing faith in black men. I say all that to say I have a theory about why black women today feel the way they do. This is a bit out there, but I think our black female ancestors passed to current day black women their frustration, sadness, hurt, and overall disillusionment at how our sad history played out. Similar to how we know instinctively not to mess with certain colored bugs, poisonous plants, etc.
