Do black people who are against “Cancel Culture” know they’re falling into a trap?

I don't care for cancel culture. I don't know what happened to if you don't like something or someone, turn the channel. Nope, nowadays the weak can't turn the channel, they need the subject of their offense de-platformed. The companies are the most disappointing because they capitulate to vocal minority on Twitter. I'm glad Netflix is standing their ground with Chappelle. Finally a company showed some balls.
Exactly.
What many people don't understand is you have a right to offend and a right to be offended. Being offended is an individual's problem not everyone else's.

And if enough people have a personal problem with you, companies have right to not invite you back or cancel your contract because you're bad for business.

Think my problem with it is giving up power and control. I don't want to live in a world where we can only say and do or have beliefs what that "they" say is acceptable or else you're silenced. I think its dangerous and people are going to keep pushing the needle and using it against black people (mostly black men). I think this topic is more nuanced than white people just wanting to say nikka
When has this not been america? When were people able to say what they want and have beliefs outside of the acceptable range?

I don't support the cancel culture and nobody should.

Folks who support this type of sh*t are people you argue with that throw their hands up in the air and act baffled then say I can't believe you said that instead of actually arguing back. They'd rather make scene to dismiss everything you said.

I was wrong. I hadn't seen this. This is hilarious :russ:

The result, for staff, was chaotic. Policy priorities would emerge suddenly and be treated as instant emergencies. Staffers were ordered to drop everything, for instance, because friends of Gayle King’s in Hollywood had asked the organization to support her when critics objected to her asking about Kobe Bryant’s alleged sexual assault after his death. Priorities were put on pause to give staffers time to tweet support of King, issue a statement, and launch a petition. “I had very little insight into how exactly they would pick on a certain thing that they decided that we should do something for,” one staffer said. “Like, somebody in the network mentioned this story that was on Morning Joe, so now we have to post it on Instagram, like within the next hour.”

I’m sure all we all know that powerful friend was that put in the call :russ:

I knew it was a wrap on that organization the moment that Hollywood took over it and highjacked the movement for their own agenda. It’s also exactly why you should watch who you willingly accept donations from.

You see it. My mother founded and ran a non profit for about 5 yrs, never took a cash donation. I was young and i thought she was doing it the hard way. Over time, I have learnT. :usure:

Every charitable donation isn’t always a good one and I don’t think that people realize that especially when it’s coming from big money donors.

I can totally believe that the workers weren’t the problem at all, but more so the top of the organization that got took over and ran by celebrities which is exactly what happened.

Nope, the org was compromised from jump. They said in the article, it grew out of 40+ "working groups." Wp translation: 40 cliques of white bytches who grew up rich, met at smith, and stayed close as they took their rightful positions as upper class wm proxies.

They did exactly what they were expected to do. That's why all the wm capitalists funded them.

And the exact reason why the entire governing board consisted of big name celebrities. Once it got exposed, they dissolved the board and all those celebrities walked away pretending they never took part in it in the first place.

The celebrities arent the important ones. They can buy celebs as needed. I noted a lot of asian women on the board, who are their husbands/ bfs?? This 'Tina Tchen' seemed like she was running shyt for a minute. :usure:

Roberta Kaplan is the one originally with the Cuomo ties and that's how Tina Tchen got hemmed up in it all as well as she helped her doing the smearing and suppression of accusers and being an adviser for Cuomo. Chen has ties to Michelle Obama during her time as a lawyer in Chicago, so I'm sure those connections helped her later in life as well.

It's the exact reason why I don't see how Chris Cuomo didn't get fired for helping his brother out as well since he essentially did some of the exact same things that those two women did. I always thought it was weird that CNN let him interview his brother like that anyways.

I think up until recently you could say and do what you want within reason. Yeah people used to get canceled in the past for saying outlandish shyt but it's getting extreme now and I only see it getting worse. It's why a lot of people are scrubbing their social media history. The internet used to be the wild west and public figures are getting outed for shyt they said 10 years ago. It's lunacy and lowkey some bytch shyt. "I don't like what you're saying you need to be canceled" :stopitslime:My concern is many topics have nuance but nowadays platforms are censoring viewpoints and canceling people that they don't agree with. Its like we all have to have the same ideas now and be npcs. No type of independent thought is allowed. You can see it now with the vaccine shyt(im vaxxed btw). I just see this going down a dangerous path idk how some of yall dont see it but...:yeshrug:
