From personal experience and from people I know, the money is deposited into a shared account and rent/mortgage is just automatically debited on the 1st of the month. Despite what social media says, majority of black couples in happy relationships share the responsibilities of the household(paying bills, cooking, cleaning, etc).
Black men can be some of the biggest tricks. Social media don't make it any better. I don't remember his name, but that breh who always eating food in his skits when his son or daughter comes to him with a problem.

And would probably be the best move to make with two incomes if there was discipline. Pay the house off, save for a down payment or take some equity out for the down payment to cop a cheaper crib to rent out... sumn like that. Rinse, repeat...
