There was a story in the daily Mail a while back, where a drunken guy, a young guy was staggering all over the road, and a police car spotted him. The two female police officers picked him up, found out where he lived and drove him home to his mother, even helped get him into bed . They then left him a very sweet note, asking him not to do that again as he could hurt himself.
This was in the UK, and I reckon if more cops behaved like that, people would have a whole new respect for them. They could have arrested him for being drunk and disorderly and slung him in a cell , or they could have taken him to hospital and clogged up Accident and emergency where actual sick people need help. Instead they used a bit of common sense and drove him home.
