if you cant blend you probably dont even listen to music right

im not knocking Djing cause I do it ... but the rebuttles are always horrible

how can you rap on beat
but arent able to beat match with a song already done and polished?

when mf grimm rapped over tick tick
did that make the beatles prolific djs? or mf grimm an outstanding rapper?

NY all day..Da Stead & BK..
you tell me whats hard about using turntables then
Why don't u go and try hoppin on em and tell me what kinda luck u have..try learning to scratch..beat juggle..get ur timing straight..get the feel of the turntable cause every model has a different feel..master ur own style as well..and it's not just about the tables as well..u gotta know how to use the faders..get that shyt to a science...learn how to scratch with the beat and not just random scratching...learn cue's..drops..baby scratches and transformer scratches..and that's just the basics.

I remember the first time I bought my 1200's about 10 years ago. I remember being all strong about DJ'ing (the technical side of things) and I remember being :to: the first time I had to hold the headphones to my ear to listen to the next track and blend that together. shyt took a while to grab, let alone everything else that comes w/ scratching and all that.

Always thought a good DJ was a must, making sure there is cadence on the track list, knowing when to drop out of certain songs and into the next. I think it's more difficult than people realize.

Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven
And someone easily can go write rhymes like 'Im slappin hoes / blowin dro / killin foes / and when you put my song on, it goes' just the same...

Of course there are lazy/push button djs, It's not like I don't go out and know this. Happens a lot in Vegas where I spent a ton of time. There are tons of shows and parties where people DO dj though. Just because you see guys do layups at a basketball game doesn't mean it is easy to be a professional basketball player. Sure it's easy to just go out and warm up in a layup drill but that doesn't make you even a marginal NBA player let alone a good one.

Obviously there is levels to this shyt but to act like no one DJs anymore when theres 1000s of podcasts and live streams of them actually doing something....

Nah I wasn't saying real DJ's ain't around. I was just replying to people acting like it's not happening.

I'd say more clubs are on a playlist and definitely more radio shows (even those with a Dj).

Sadly your analogy with rappers is on point. Because if you look at the game, more abc 123 rappers are on tv and the radio then real mc's who work at their craft. Give them a trap beat and that's all they need.

They don't call this the microwave generation for nothing.

Man these nikkas got serato now. It'll fix your playlist to match the bpm of the next song.

I went to this little hole in the wall bar in Atl. Dude was mixing and scratching all the 90s hip hop. Grown crowd only. That shyt was packed and people were sweating it out on the dance floor. Everyone having a great time.

That shyt was :wow:

I love scenes like that. Serato changed the game, definitely a good look for things like that, but still w/ the vinyl. Only a number of DJ's still lug crates around, I think it'll be a lost art eventually having to adjust the speed of the record to match and all that.
