Every company policy is different. Dont take anyones advise unless you specifically know how the company human resources vets its prospects.

My company hired a third party background check and the company requested w2s to match salary and job title as verification. They even haulted my on boarding because i listed my job title as something different they had on file. They used how much income stated i made and my w2 to calculate how much time i worked for the company based off the numbers.

College transcripts were verified to make sure it stated Degree Awarded and they contacted the degree verification or whatever it was.

Depending on the job, they are def checking work history but i can see how some lower paying jobs may just take your resume at face value.
You work for the alphabet boys?

I know for a fact that's what they do, very thorough.

Mainly how long you've been working at a job for.
Like saying you work at a job for a year but really its 5 months. do they check that?
Yes.
They will ask if you worked at X job for X amount of years between X dates.
And they do firm that you have a degree and stuff like that.

As a nurse I usually walk into the interview and have the job by the end of it. I can say of all the jobs that I have had only one has actually checked my references.
Depends on what kind of job and what position you're applying for. If it's for some cashier job at Walmart probably not. If your applying for a job as a nurse at a hospital or clinic then definitely.

I almost went to a job interview at Walmart in 2015 but the interview got cancelled thank goodness  The system is corrupt in Life :(

I need higher self confidence before ever getting a job in my life

They check references - i've been a reference for a few people.

They sometimes ask mad amount of questions some of which I can't answer.
