I was gonna wait it out to see if I could get a better deal for a membership..

I know someone said they offer a certain number of personal training sessions as an incentive, but I dont want that at all.. All those are one big ploy to get you signed up-- waste of time..

I want a free month or lower monthly fee:jawalrus:

Some places have the good deals around new years and late spring/early summer. In my experience, most big/successful gyms do this.

Other places only throw out deals when business slows, usually around this time of the year. Gym I used to go to was like this.

Wait until January, a lot of people set new year's resolutions to lose weight, a lot want to join gyms and they all try to beat each other with the offers.

There's usually no such thing as a good deal at a gym, unless you get month-to-month. You might get a lower price, but they'll probably lock you in for a year or two and most lazy people never see the gym past January. A gym would probably violate the fire code if every paying member actually went to the gym with regularity.

We just had an enrollment blitz at the Fitness Connection around here (they used to be Gold's Gym), it was 9.95/mo with zero enrollment fee. I had a 29.99 monthly due when it was Gold's so I asked how I could get the new fee. They had a lil snow bunny at the local car wash signing nikkas up, and she told me to cancel my current one then sign up again. Then she even signed my 12 year old up since he's tall for his age and could pass for 16. Now it's 20 for 2 people. :win:

i hate that time of the year...new years resolution rush sickens me:sitdown:.. my gym does its 6 month special from december to the end of the first week in january..6 months for 120 bucks (typically a month membership is 40 bucks)
