Perfect example of white bias.
Fact is if you a white artist in rap/r&b all you need more so then not is a hit and you will put up numbers

With that said blurred lines actually grew on my. Wasnt a fan at first

Frank Ocean did 130k without a single out (and a 10 year long career of accumulating fans to back it up) and over 500 in total.
He's been flopping for like 10 years, why is the one time he actually has a big hit and does some numbers white bias..?

Of course white popstars have some privilege at times, but I don't think that's the case here.

Hit songs alone never sold albums. For example, Eminem never had a #1 single until "Lose Yourself", but had two albums that sold near 10 million copies or above. Neither album had a #1 single. Jay Z's biggest album Hard Knock Life didn't have a #1 single, but BP3 did. HKL is Jay's highest selling album. An example from R&B is Mary J. Blige who didn't have a #1 until "Be Without You", but Breakthrough isn't Mary's best seller.

Usher did 10 million with Yeah!
And Jaheim has not had a top 50 song in 11 years, yet he managed to whip out 2 gold albums after that, unlike Robin Thicke.

Edit Thicke has 1 platinum album and 4 other albums that did not get certified anything.

I'm sure justin timberle is salty that "take back that cac" song flopped something terrible :laff:

Like he really needs that song to be a runaway hit to sell an album. "Tunnel Vision" didn't even chart, so I'm sure he probably isn't even sweating that song not being a Top 40 hit yet. It charted after being out just four or five days. This album is the second installment of an already successful album which means it'll do numbers regardless.

Just cause a single doesn't hit #1 doesn't mean it wasn't a hit. "Hard Knock Life" was a Pop hit for Jay Z becoming his biggest international song charting in over 11 countries which was new for him. It peaked at #15 on the charts so that's a Top 20 hit. Breakthrough had "Be without you" which was #1 for a record breaking 15 weeks on the RnB charts making it the #1 song in the 50 year history of the chart. It peaked at #3 on the Hot 100 so it was a huge hit though it didn't go #1. Eminem "The Real Slim Shady" peaked at #4 and "Without Me" peaked at #2 so MMLP and The Eminem show did have hits. So back in the day Yes Hit songs sold albums. Puff's "No Way Out", Big's "Life After Death", Pac "All Eyes on Me" all had Hit records that sold the albums.
