and Ground Zeroes (you dont have to play this its so short you can look up the cutscenes on youtube)

but definitely play MGS3 or you wont even care about the story tbh

Metal gear solid 3 Snake eater is probably my favorite MGS game and one of the greatest games ever made.

You definitely should play All the previous ones you have access to first. The story in mgs V is incomplete. The real question is do you need to play anything AFTER MGSVTPP. I'll save you the trouble and answer that question for you now.

The game from what I hear is unfinished. I'm guessing it was in development and the developers were told that's a wrap so they had to truncate the ending.

I didn't play any MGS before this game and it was still top 3 to me last year

If you're willing to invest time into old games go for it, but it's not going to hurt your enjoyment like that.
