The release of Delta just reminded me how much I love this series.

I watched the first 20 mins or so like I had never played the game before.

Then went back down the PW/GZ/MGSV rabbit hole lol.

There’s nothing in gaming quite like it. The mix of quirky anime fan service, convoluted story and characters, cinematic, spy thriller action, political and meta commentary and stealth action game play just scratches an itch that no other game seems to be able to hit.

I can’t get into MGSV for the life of me. MGS does not need open world anything tbh.

I love that game breh. I have damn near 250 hours in it. Just started playing the story again on ps5.

I think a wide linear approach for it would’ve been perfect (like TLOU2) though, instead of open world.

also probably an unpopular opinion but I don't think mgs4 is really worth the time and effort it would take to port it to current gen. I don't think the game is as good as people remember. plus they would have to remove so much (the live action stuff in the intro that they likely don't have licensing to use, all the ps3-specific dialogue and features) that it just wouldn't be the same experience

I'm really hoping for a full on remake of MGS1 to be honest.
The problem with Twin Snakes is that first person aiming and the ability to hang from ledges broke the game.
I actually like that they updated the game with MGS2 AI and enabled the player to hold up the guards, though. Being able to hide dead/incapacitated guards inside the lockers was also a good addition.

Metal Gear 1 and 2 also need remakes, especially the second one (underrated game). Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake would be crazy with full voice acting, 3D gameplay and modern QoL features. It's a real shame we only got to play as Solid Snake in his prime in MGS1 and the Tanker chapter (not counting the OG games on the MSX).
And whatever they do, they need to get David Hayter back. These games don't hit the same without his iconic voice.
