Do Jamaicans have a 1 drop rule?

I'm curious...
What is a "brown jamaican"?
I read a passage by Canadian "breh" Malcolm Gladwell and he said his mother wasn't considered "black" like an African American, but "brown", like another group altogether, due to her "Irish Planter" heritage.

Could some of y'all assist an inquiring breh? He threw me off a few times with his theories.
Is the US the only country that practiced HYPODESCENT?

A black person with light skin, well that's what I learned from my family anyways.

In my experience I've never met a jamaican, light or dark that didn't consider themselves black like an African American. Black is blacks, at least in my family anyways
