Still open I guess booze is a great catalyst for rational safe precautionary behavior
They remain open because there is a large number of serious alcoholics. If they can't get their fix, they suffer serious withdrawal symptoms. They would be adding unneeded stress to the healthcare system if they went in for treatment.
