Subconsciously, I think those parents do not want their children to actually succeed.

I think some of them do want their kids to succeed, but they don't know how to properly express it. My dad, for instance, usually wraps his concerns in a negative statement. He's an a$$hole, but I know he doesn't always mean it, it's just the only way he knows. My siblings haven't come to that realization, so when he throws out his criticisms all they do is butt heads. I tell my mom that he basically arguing with himself in those situations and it frustrates him to encounter an equally sized a$$hole ( :harlemoah: )

My mans said that earlier and it’s true. Everyone in my family gots to gtfo by 18 if u not in school. I have mixed feelings about it bc if ur not in school or the military what could u be possibly doing other that laying around eating up the fridge and getting in trouble? On the flip that’s when young brehs get in the most trouble after they get kicked out 18-21.
Told my kids they don’t have to leave tho. I don’t wanna put that burden on them like my pops did me (even though I got caught with crack in his house). I got in a world of mess after I got the boot. Fukked up my credit, caught cases, got a chick pregnant. Not saying it wouldn’t have happened otherwise.

Generous parents + hard working kids = generational economic advantages

Parents kick their kids out (or kids voluntarily leave) only for said kid to end up being a perpetual renter and making their Chinese or Jewish landlord rich.

The way to acquire real estate is to spend your youth saving like crazy. The best way to save like crazy is to limit as many recurring expenses as possible (rent above all else)
