Yeah, I’ve seen this play out in real time. This is what happens when there’s a lack of black male leadership. We’ve allowed intersectionality to co-opt the dysfunction in the black community.

You can’t be for black rights if you’re not: pro-LGBT, pro-trans, pro-immigration, pro-feminism. They’ve co-opted our civil rights and use our deaths and discrimination as a Trojan horse. Just look at BLM as a prime example.

You’re not black if you don’t vote for Biden. You’re a c00n if you don’t vote at all. It’s “Misogynoir” if you don’t bootlick these twitter birds. You’re homophobic if you don’t embrace gay black caricatures.

If you’re a straight black male that only cares about black people, it’s a waste of time because almost everyone has been compromised to get crumbs from the table. We’re not allowed to have an identity without being defined by everyone else but ourselves.

We’re the only group who are told how to think, vote and act.

so let’s define the central problem here : you were saying that for black folks, there is hardly much indicators that separates someone from middle-class and lower class. I’m inclined to agree. suburban kids talk, dress, and often time perform the same social behaviors that their hood counterpart indulge in. so much so that many suburban kids decide to jump off the porch and get involved in the street shyt


For other ethnic groups it’s things like straight teeth, the brand of clothing you wore, the neighborhood you lived in , what your parents did for a living and the luxury goods you possess that typically separate them from lower class to middle-clas.

from a more abstract level, other ethnicities will create a form of exclusivity , manifest in the form of clubs, churches, schools, and occupational pipelines. That way you keep the upper crust separated from the riffraff, but in turn you give the riffraff something to aspire to.

In the black community we have the boule and organizations like Jack and Jill and black Greek organizations, but I think a question we don’t ask enough is, what good are these organizations doing?

I personally feel like they are fading artifacts and the people behind them are increasingly out of touch and don’t hear the canary in the coal mine. yes the goal of exclusivity is to keep the best of the best separate but sustainability has to factor in as well.

There’s tons of bright, Motivated and successful people here on the coli , how many of us have ever encountered these so-called talented 10%ers? if the answer is not many at all, and we can objectively say that the community is in shambles and on a downward trajectory and that we’re getting lapped by other ethnicities including Africans , Isn’t that kind of a problem?

Middle class doesn't need an identity
