In the black community we have the boule and organizations like Jack and Jill and black Greek organizations, but I think a question we don’t ask enough is, what good are these organizations doing?

These organizations are not made for 90% of black folks. So the question "what good are these organizations doing" is vacuous because it wasn't made for you.

They were made for the people they were made for and THEY define for themselves what is good about them.

Just because something is black doesn't mean that all black people are entitled to it or that somehow all black people should be benefiting from it. So the "we don't ask this question enough" is really "you're not in a position to ask the question to begin with".

I grew up in what would be considered middle class. A large portion of other middle class black males I knew purposely chose to be "in the streets". Subconsciously they felt that would make them more "black".
I was going to say
Middle class consists of:

Paying your bills
Having AC
Taking care of your kids
Having a house

Middle class doesn't need an identity

It's insulting to Black ppl that we need to "cool" shyt up in order to do it
This thread makes no sense.
For some reason people here act like Middle class black men are all nikka nerds/Carlton Banks.
A middle class black man can be/do anything he wants.
The end

I've been saying for years that black women's love for "street" dudes are 1 of the biggest reasons the community is the way it is. It's not the only reason obviously but it definitely plays a bigger role than alot of people want to admit.

This!

We are versatile, can’t pinpoint our lexicon, flyest person in the meeting, envied by our look and attitude, can still talk that s—t during spades.
:pachaha:
Our boys look at us like “he has it together”, but can’t figure out why or how. What makes him different.

Life as a black man with a little bit of money and some sense is the GOAT life. I wouldn’t trade it out with any other lifestyle. I just want a little more money.

No, this is a blantant lack of accountability.

No man should speak like this.

Ultimately our lack of self control is fukking us more than anything else.

I feel disrespected that there is an assumption I am going to play crash dummy for a female.

And then make it seem like she has some magic wand over my face.

Come on man, have more respect for yourself.

I refuse to give control over my actions to another human being.

When I saw this as a youngin, I always7 found it funny the music goes quiet. Who told them to turn it down :mjlol:

That episode made everybody think. But the pro Black brother was exaggerated, and the Carlton on that dance floor don't exist, and I've seen them all...I think. But that scene still had alot of reality in it.

This scene from "A Soldiers Story" when Pfc. Peterson got arrested for murdering Sgt. Waters, was deep too". And Sgt. Waters really liked Pfc. Stevens for his courage to stand up :francis:
