I've spent 300 on a pair of Futura Laboratories jeans at a boutique before a couple of years back. So what? Is this yet another thread where swaggerless coli nikkas try to browbeat somebody for wearing what they want and not giving a fukk what other people think? Whats it to you if someone actually likes fashion and wears and buys what they like? Will that validate your lack of style and thinking shopping at Payless or JCPenney is "what's up?" I typically spend $180-$300 on raw denim. But I'm really into raw selvage denim.
Raw Selvage denim typically is made in Japan and ages and fades naturally over time with lots of wear.
You typically wear selvage jeans for 6+ months w/ out washing (you put them in the freezer to eliminate bacteria).

These are before and after pics of how selvage jeans fade naturally with age.
I usually only buy 1 pair of jeans a year if that.

you seem knowledgeable, any go to brands you'd suggest?

copped my first pair of edwin jeans last year, i also have a pair of kicking mule and a pair of apc's, not sure what other brands are quality

Of all the overpriced fashion to attack, I'm surprised the OP went after jeans as they are one of the few items were you can literally feel the quality. I have jeans from all across the price kspectrum. I love my cheap $60 Levis but they can't hold a candle to my Rag & Bone. Trues, or 7s with regard to look, feel and fit.
