Drake's pen game when it comes to the R&B outweighs how he sounds at the end of the day.

Brand New is a classic.

When he takes himself seriously, he blows his R&B peers out of the water when it comes to lyrics. Its almost going back to the 90s with his choice of painting pictures and making choruses.

Hes not talking about beating it up or being overly explicit. Dude goes back to the lyrical essence of what people liked about R&B.

I don't think it's about vocal range or holding a note or none of that shyt, dude just comes up with good harmonies and melodies. The same way he's not a rappity ass rapper, but he can hold his own with the best. At the end of the day, his music just sounds good on the ears, which is the whole point of listening to music in the first place. Can't argue with the final product.

Dope thing about drake is that most of the songs he writes aren't meant to sing by great singers .. its meant to sing by nyggas like him. He sings most of his just right enough and with emotion .. when real singers do covers of his songs .. they over do it and lose all emotion cuz they focusing on singing to much rather than the message .. or words he's saying
