The Grammys like black music but dont love it. I'm surprised Stevie won 3 albums of the year in the 70s. They just recently started to acknowledge hip hop in the major categories in the early 00s. Hell the Academy awards are for more hip when it comes to hip hop.

I feel like most nikkas know this and take the Grammy award with a grain of salt, but there's still some folk who try to use Grammy awards as a narrative to big up an artist they likeNot a fan of DAMN but I don’t see the appeal in Bruno Mars at all
At the end of the day, Bruno has more digestable music and the Grammys are cacced out.

24k magic was vintage r&b & Bruno been killing everything over the past year or so.

he getting all of Eminems old awards but missing out on the big one.
Bruno or Kendrick albums were pretty good. i liked about half of each album.
i played Damn for a solid two weeks and then shyt just disappeared out of my rotation. compared to his other two albums where i rarely played them daily but they would get a front to back listen once a week for the best part of a year.
Calling All My Lovelies is the best song out of both albums.

maybe because people hyped it up but eh...same people probably liked his performance with that horrid Imagine Dragons band too.

I will never understand how we can assign so much value and credibility to these award shows and use them as a barometer. Especially in Hip hop. The JayZs and Diddy,Nas etc should not be attending the Grammy's at all. They're part of the reason it has so much relevance.
