Like I said - your stepfather failed and since you asked, that’s not the pedo comment of yours that I’m referring to but since you just self admitted to your pedo tendencies and dug your own grave just now

It usually works when the relationship is genuine and built over time....Single parents especially moms are usually in a rush to establish or reestablish a family unit for whatever reason or they feel they don't have time for the vetting process and want a commitment ASAP.....This usually leads to failure...I've dealt with single moms who where sweethearts but man do they put that pressure on you after while....Ima understanding dude but I def learned my lesson....

My dad raised my brother like his own. My sons father’s dad treated his two oldest brothers like his own. My uncle treats my aunts oldest son like his own. Another uncle treats the woman he married kids like his own. My brother ex wife who remarried a new man—well that man treats my brothers kids like they are his. And in each one of these situations all of them are closer to stepdad than to biological dad. My brother has no relationship with his biological father. Even though my moms dead, my brother still talks to my father often and they go out together and drink and what not. He calls him for advice.
I think for every bad case there are good ones.

IT DOES ALL THE TIME.

MOST OF THE TIME THE STEPDAD WANTS THE PICTURE TO LOOK ONE WAY WHEN IT ISN'T REALLY LIKE THAT. YOU HAVE TO FIND THE BOUNDARIES AND SIT DOWN AND DECIDE IF THAT IS WHAT YOU WANT. PEOPLE HAVING KIDS IN STEPDAD/MOM SITUATIONS BEFORE THEY SIT DOWN AND TALK ABOUT IT.

THE MOM HAS TO BE JUST AS REALISTIC ABOUT IT. THE ONLY ONE WHO REALLY CAN'T BE FLEXIBLE IS THE KID. THEY DON'T KNOW ANYTHING AND YOU CAN'T EXPECT THEM TO KNOW. THEY'RE CHILDREN.

I'VE BEEN IN THE SITUATION TWICE. I BROKE ONE OFF BECAUSE ME AND KID WERE NOT COMPATIBLE. I SAT DOWN WITH THE KID AND THEN WITH THE MOM.
