Do tires need to be changed even if you barely drive the car

Yes, my mom barely drives and as a result, often needs tires changed due to dry rot on the rubber.

if your car sits for more then six months without moving you'll literally need to change your tires more often than if you drove your car like once a week.

I guess the rubber loses certain qualities.
So they may have tread but the tire is no good.

Nothing to do with tread. Rubber hardens and rots if allowed to. I would make sure that car gets driven a couple times per month

Your tires need to be changed they look like they have some dry rot, you could possibly get a blow out.

You go by the tread. Just get a tire gage and it will let you know when the tread is too low.

Post a picture of the tires so we can see

I think you're fine

Never take auto advice from a woman. The tires can look fine and blow while driving. Some shops won't do no work connected to the tire if the tire been on for so long of a time.

They'll flat spot too if you don't drive it enough

They should go further if you lotion them. Aveeno or an oil based Lubriderm is good.

Barely drive as in the car sitting is not good and will lead to dry rot as mentioned. Barely drive as in not too many miles but regularly and you’re good. Just go by tread in that case
