I own the house so she pays some of the monthly ancillaries (Ubers to the bar, movie tickets, groceries, etc)..

But we're not married.

If we were married, she'd pitch in on the mortgage / bills more. But at the moment, I'm not trying to have my girl paying rent on my place and not gain equity.

So you'd charge your wife but your girl gets a free ride?:highmj:

Hell yeah...

Here's the thing, I didn't pursue or get with a woman to take care of her. You can keep your own place if that's what you wanted to do, she moved in with me to a whole new state, I was already in Virginia. But I'm also not a traditionalist, I don't believe in gender roles. You can keep your place, I can keep mine, but I don't feel like you're entitled to anything I have. If I choose to share it with you, that's exactly what it is--->my choice. I don't have to and I'm don't feel obligated nor under pressure to carry you as if you're my daughters...

So yes, it's not really half and half, more like 65/35, and my rationale goes beyond this. I browse LSA and I'm learning women have an issue with this, but in my personal life, it hasn't been an issue. Women I've dated know they don't have to move in with me, I damn sure ain't moving in with them...

Granted, I've been with my current for 3.5 years almost, and she's mother to my children. We have two daughters together, so my standards grew more flexible as our relationship deepened. Still, all that traditional shyt is out the window for the most part...

I wouldn't be charging anyone because my wife and I would be co-owners on the property.

A girlfriend doesn't get the chance to earn equity because I don't wanna cut a check in the case of a breakup. However, she also doesn't have to throw away money in rent because I like her.
