don't care. i don't wait for replies. texts are like messages in a bottle. you send them then you forget. A lot of guys text with nothing to say though and then wonder why she's not replying after a certain point. You should only text to set up the next meet. Too many dudes trying to hard to be funny over text. texting little smileys, memes, trying to build little inside jokes. trying to be witty. 9 times out of 10 she sees you as a clown. stop trying to impress them. stop being scared to be boring. matter of fact, lots of dude would get more play by being a little bit more "boring". but you guys are too busy trying to make her laugh with your "oh so funny" observations. focus on meeting her instead of focusing on making her think you're so smart and making her smile. Dudes think they're doing something cause the girl is replying to her text quick. It doesn't count until she's literally licking your balls

It's so much based in signaling, when writing is essentially a direct form of communication, hence the near total dominance of emojis and acronyms, and the obsession with response time, and the nuances behind it.

As an older guy I have to fight against this culture sometimes. When someone text me I text them back If I can and if it’s a reasonable reason they are texting me. If I say I will be somewhere at a certain time I’ll be there and if something happens I’ll do my best to call and let said guest know I can’t make it. So I expect people to do the same but it’s strange to say you’ll meet up with someone at a certain time and they don’t show and it’s accepted as just flaking and normal.
I mean I get it but the texting ghosting culture is a strange one. But you gotta adapt so it is what it is.
