Growing up I never heard of making that kind of money unless you was a doctor or it was illegal...so yea its a big deal.

That's part of legacy 6 certs, 6 figures, 6 series status which is now discontinued... how are you able to even post on this forum without confirmation of this status

You all need to be specific...not any old IT job is at 6 figures.. it depends on the company because some places doing the EXACT same job and there's a 20k difference in pay.
Be specific...what positions....DBA, Security, System Admin, etc.
Because there is no 6 figure helpdesk anywhere unless you're contracting a govt job/govt realted that has to waste billions to justify funding....OR consulting.
Not everybody on here is gullible, if you're going to throw out the numbers be specific and say the position and type of company that is paying 6 figures for that position and is it a CONTRACT per hour where you have no benefits 6 figures or is it a salary with benefits and vacation pay and insurance etc.. Lets not hide the details.

You’re thinking of grunt work and not the IT field
First I was gonna say no. But then my boss makes that. Does he get on the computer daily? Hell no. But is his degrees in IT and he runs the IT dept. hell yea
Then you got managers, supervisors, bosses, team leads, etc
Being “in IT” encompasses everybody in that dept, not just technical support bottom feeders
Honestly there is a salary cap in IT. Unless you move over to a consulting, executive role of some sort. Everyone I know eating is getting between $80k-130k.But in IT almost everyone i know that is in the game 10+ years starts their own consulting/contracting company and start bidding for fed contracts or subcontracts.

a lot of factors like location, but depending on the field and how in-demand your skillset is you can get that. I got a call last week for a senior network engineer position 180k

in my NOC, we got network operators, network engineers, team leads, the NOC boss, HIS boss and then HIS fukking boss
but since we all work in the NOC, we are all IT background and considered IT. but once you get to my direct boss, he already making that.. and that's probably low management

To be honest a guy who works in sales is more likely to make 150K plus compensation than IT guys
