Meh. Yeah I disagree from the female perspective. For majority of human history, The entire world is based off gendered understanding of females being emotional and that being considered as weakness. In fact, anything associated with emotions is falsely attributed to females and the fact that men are called feminine as an insult for displaying emotions indicates just how much women are demonized for them.
As for calling men misogynistic for their preferences, that’s actually a very recent phenomenon...and entirely due to feminist values and female economic opportunity.
Traditionally and worldwide, by and large, males have always been given a TON of leeway when it comes to what they want in a woman physically because they were the ones supporting the relationship so it was assumed that they should be able to get attractive females, while women should feel lucky to get ANY man.
In fact, we didn’t really start coming down on male physical preferences in society until women started making their own money and wanted to be valued for more than just their looks. Simultaneously, women themselves also started feeling like it was okay to be more shallow and expect better looking mates because they no longer have to leverage looks for survival and were contributing more economically to their relationships.
It’s not that women weren’t as shallow as men have been. They always have been. But for thousands of years, their economic opportunities were limited. So to survive, they had to choose up on dudes who they weren’t necessarily attracted to but who had other qualities like financial resources.
There are still chicks who don’t care as much about looks in their mates but in some cases it’s because they got their eye on a larger prize and ain’t trying to work for themselves. These chicks would fukk old ass dudes, short dudes, small dudes, young dudes, tall dudes. Doesn’t matter as long as that money is long. But most other women who are in the regular dating waters have updated their preferences in alignment with their participation in the job market.
Their reasoning is, if they are going to work AND take care of the family, they have the right to at least get what they want in a partner.
This has made it more difficult but it makes sense when you think about it.
