Considering everyone gave Em a huge L for his current album, I'd say its too high even for the GOAT to fukk around.

Then you have the infamous Black Thought freestyle...

Or K-Dot killing the charts...

Cole, etc.

Sounds like you need to do more searching OP.
What was lyrical about the Em album? You think Cole and Kendrick are top tier (of all time) lyricists? How old are you?

You misunderstood the very first line of my sentence, stop. Read it again slowly, and try not to be so thirsty with the reply. To help you out, everything you perceived from my post, is inaccurate, now, try again but this time take your time.

Bar hasn't been lowered it's just that what's popping right now ain't bars. People don't want words they just want a feeling and is that really surprising considering the generation that drives mainstream music communicates in fukking emojis

I've seen people label garbage artists like Kendrick Lamarr and J Cole as lyrical so yeah the bar is very low at this point

Im convinced you guys really just don't hear the music.
These nikkas Rap way better than previous generations lol.

They not gonna like this but it's so true.

People think just cause someone was a pioneer that they are automatically above everyone else in skill but let's not pretend that a lot of the legends ain't spit real simple bars. I'm not saying simplicity isn't good for getting a message across but lyricism encompasses a whole lot of things and the rappin ass rappers nowadays are miles ahead of the old school rappers that people got in their top 10 all-time lists.

I'm old too so it ain't like I wasn't there to appreciate those legends in their time but let's not act like there haven't been plenty of rappers who have rapped better than Nas on Illmatic.

I think it's harder to be a lyricist now, considering that so many easy go to bars and topics have been taken, they're naturally not going to be as dense verse wise and are going to have to be more creative.
