Last time I remember this happening was when uncharted 1-2 had an unlockable “next-gen filter” that made the color palette look brown/grey with intense bloom effects

I can't remember what game it was or what console, but I vaguely remember a game that if you saved it using Sonic's name, some shyt popped up dissing him.

Not so much "shots" but moreso nods to other titles. Like making an Achievement title "Gotta Catch em All!" or shyt like that is pretty common

I think this was more of a marketing thing back in the day tho. Skateboard brands and magazines used to diss each other in ads all the time in late 90s early 2000s

It's Uniracers a SNES game.

When you pick a name if you use "Sonic" or "Sega" it says
"That's not cool enough"
