I don't even remember a Rasho I don't even know what Elson and Nazr's skillsets were I guess they were the big bodies to allow Duncan to play 4. And Splitter ain't a center so I'm wrong.
But didn't Pop have a quote saying "Duncan will play center like he always has" from a while ago? Not this season with LMA signing but a couple years ago?

How is his style of play in line with centers?

When I think of a prototypical power forward I think of a big who is more athletic and fluid than centers and has more range. Duncan's bread and butter has always been the back to the basket play though he can hit mid range shots.
