It's ignorant because people don't understand that voting for your own best intrests while ignoring the needs of the entire country is very shortsighted and will not benefit you in the long run.

Doesn't matter how much money you vote into your own pocket, if the rest of the country goes down, you go down with it. Plenty of people learned this in the recent financial collapse that emptied out thier 401ks.

Yeah they were all for less regulation and fiscal responsibility till the shyt hit the fan, then they were applying for Medicaid and SS just like everybody else.

Cosign, I would consider myself a blue dog democrat. Basically a moderate, hate the extremes of both parties.

But I Will Not c00n. Any black voting republican after what theyre tryna pull in some states might as well not even consider themselves black anymore. There's no turning a blind eye to that shyt.

so what about the selfish close-minded people who vote democratically just because they're pro abortion rights or gay marriage. the ones who only care about social issues, but don't necessarily care about the economic issues surrounding the election. are they also ignorant? or are they ok because their vote aligns w yours, even though it's not for the same reasons?

in addition to caring about his own pockets i'm sure ramdam also believes that less regulation could lead to banks becoming more profitable again, which could lead to more lending, which could stimulate small business loans and the housing market, etc... etc.. but i'm not going to speak for him.

whether people want to admit it or not i'm more inclined to believe people in general, will vote w their own self interests in mind first and foremost. i don't think that means they don't care about everyone else, i think that means their own family comes first, then everyone else.

I identify with the conservative party because im all for personal responsibility, small government, and self-reliance. Creating a welfare state where the government takes care of everyone only leads to socialism, which has historically been a horrible way of running any type of country.

Margaret Thatcher once said that the problem with socialism is that eventually you run out of other's people's money to give away.

look, i'm not even into arguing politics like this because my own personal views are very split when it comes to economic vs social issues so i'm not even sure what i identify w half the time.

I never understood how people vote according to their moral opinions. Everybody comes from different walks of life and all of our morals are different. Sure abortion and homosexuality is wrong but how does it effect your life? We got people in here saying they aren't going to vote cause Obama suppots gay marriage what does that have to do with the real needs of the country? Doesn't matter who gets in office peoples morals will not change. But the Economy, jobs, education, and a multitude of things will.

I said it's ignorant because while this premise sounds good and logical, it is patently false and shortsighted. First off during recent years banks have been more profitable than they have been in a long time. Second less regulation is what caused the banks to fail in the first place. People vote for one outcome but don't realize they are actualy voting for the total opposite, that's why I call it ignorance.

Some people don't understand that by voting along certain lines they are not putting their family first, but only their own selfish needs. Vote away Medicade now, maybe you make more money but down the road when your grandson is born disabled he's gonna need that assistance that you got rid of.
