For all the engineers

What type of jobs y’all got?
Data Engineer at a huge financial firm. Not by choice, but also not terrible. I mean, I'm kind of lazy and this job is a lot of hard work, but I'm experienced the opposite when there's nothing to do for months, and in software that's more dangerous because that means they can get rid of you and technology on this place moves and break neck pace

Yes. My current job is like a mixture of systems engineering and software. Not only do I do dev work I have to present it to customers and a lot of process work too at a higher level.

I’m hating my job at the moment tbh. But if you’re detail oriented, good at attention to detail, (I still personally have to work on this and it’s fukking me up) and love highly technical work it’s a good path. I’ll say don’t go into it just for the money though. The most successful people I know genuinely love this shyt. If you go just for money, you may end up hating it because it can be high pressure and stressful at times and if you don’t have that fire, you will end up one day waking up and dreading having to go do it.

Jesus fukking Christ, you've been "considering" engineering, along with a bunch of other shyt you're never actually going to attempt to do for almost a decade now.
Like I asked you the other day, which you didn't respond to, are you really gonna start this shyt cycle again?
Go back to doing whatever you were doing instead of posting, and spare us your bullshyt. You're wasting people's time that actually want to give you advice and help you. It's honestly a shytty thing for you to do, and you've been doing it for YEARS.

Get your shyt together.

I knew the shyt seemed familiar

What is the bare minimum someone should know for a data engineer job?

Let’s say you speaking to someone who got a stem degree but they want to transition to a data engineer position

Civil here.

It’s recession proof.

I have a gov job with pension and nice benefits. I telework and work maybe 2-3 hrs a week .

The gravy train. I’m pretty much have basic income. I live like a drunk A list celebrity who can’t get work because of bad publicity.

Life really isn’t fair.

How much do you make? State?
