I'm trying to learn how to sing so some tips can be nice. Like what are some easy songs to sing. The songs my vocal coach recommended are boring as shyt

You will understand how singing in key makes up for 80% of sounding good.

I sang in the mid 90s in Bham with a current semi famous gospel artist. We practiced and harmonized with mostly acapella covers. Practicing with a group and building confidence is elemental.

On another note, people sleep on learning an instrument esp the guitar if you want to sing R&B.


My secret was to record myself on a multitrack and overdub my harmonies to practice and learn to build an ear for my voice.

You gotta get your breathing under control.

Take a deep breath and let your diaphragm push the notes through the run.

Don't worry about vibrato too much, just try to sing from your gut.

I would focus on making my notes crisp and accurate. Power is nothing without control.

Listen to some Lou Rawls and Barry White... then go listen to some Donny Hathaway. All different levels of vocal style but they have supreme control of their voice.

How do I do that? Sounds like I'm using too much power? Will do. Idk I was forcing vibrato nor do I know what that means lol
